June 18th was spent with Gene's good friend Rob. What a joy to watch these two friends interact as we sauntered around the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough. The first exhibit we saw was all about canoodling - who knew going canoeing could be this romantic? The museum has many wonderful exhibits from the original native bark creations to the most modern techniques of building canoes. We spent several fascinating hours checking it all out and Rob and Gene had a great conversation about canoe, bow, and guitar building with one of the volunteers who works there.

The three of us went to an awesome little Thai restaurant for a late lunch before heading back to Rob's home for a relaxing evening visit with Joanne. They live in a beautiful area of the province called Cold Springs (near Cobourg). The evening flew by and all too soon we had to say goodbye. I'm hoping we can stay in touch now we have found each other.
