Going Home Slowly - An Evening Walk in Toronto

June 23, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

On our first day in Toronto we visited Casa Loma, had a great meal in an Italian Restaurant on Bloor Street and then walked around the "village". Gene lived in Toronto in the early 70's and thoroughly enjoyed showing me some old haunts - a few changes have taken place in the past 40 years. On one block, Gene saw a row of parked cars including two Bentleys, Aston Martins, and Ferraris which would be worth over a million and a half dollars. The "village" has come a long way since 1972. Our personal indulgence was an ice cream cone each and watching the expensive shoes walking by on manicured feet. A TV show was being filmed just outside the subway we used to go home so the cabs on the street had New York license plates and logos. As we entered the subway, I glanced up and realized we were walking into the "Brooklyn Subway" only to find that inside we were back in Toronto. What a fun evening walk.
